- Qatar continues to invest in the future of ice hockey, with another player representing the country at the Regional Officiating Development Camp in Sapporo, Japan, from October 15–18, 2026.
- Organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) with support from the Japan Ice Hockey Federation, the camp provided a valuable opportunity to develop officiating knowledge and skills.
- This reflects our commitment to developing local talent, creating pathways into officiating, and building a stronger foundation for the long-term growth of ice hockey in Qatar.

Naseem Abouhatab shared her comments on the seminar :
Taking part in the IIHF Regional Development Camp in Sapporo, Japan, was an exciting first step in my journey into ice hockey officiating. As someone who is just starting to learn about refereeing, this camp gave me the opportunity to understand the role of an on-ice official, develop my skating and positioning skills, and learn how to apply the rules in real game situations. The practical sessions and guidance from experienced coaches helped me build a stronger foundation and gave me a clearer understanding of what it takes to become a good referee.
I am very thankful to the Qatar Olympic Committee for giving me the opportunity to be part of this experience. Starting this new journey in an international learning environment made it even more meaningful for me. I am excited to continue learning, gain more experience on the ice, and see where this new path takes me. This camp has encouraged me to take the next steps with confidence and enthusiasm.
